I once had a membership to 24 Hour Fitness for $5 a month.
It wasn’t a fluke, and I had it for about 15 years, until I moved to a place with no 24 Hours. Because it was so cheap I kept it, even when I wasn’t actively going to the gym. I didn’t realize that I didn’t need a gym and machines in order to get a great workout. In fact, I get better workouts at home now than I even did at the gym. Part of that might be my introverted tendencies, and knowing that no one sees me work out at home, but I digress.
There are so many amazing, absolutely free ways to get great workouts at home-no more excuses! Here are my favorites:
Fitness Blender is probably my #1 favorite workout website of all time. There are literally hundreds of workouts to choose from, and you can search by level of difficulty as well as target area and equipment needed. There is something here for everyone, and Kelli and Daniel are a blast to watch together. They focus on a lot of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and weight training.
These videos are super high energy and upbeat, which I love. If you aren’t the Elle Woods from Legally Blonde type, these might get on your nerves, but they are great workouts. There is more cardio focus, some barre and yoga workouts, and even some chair workouts if you’re recovering from an injury. They are also big on bodyweight routines.
In my experience, BeFiT is a little more for the intermediate workout, although they do have a pregnanacy/pre/post natal workout series. If you like P90x or extreme routines like that, BeFit is your place. They also have yoga programs, dance workouts, and best of all, some Jillian Michaels.
Yoga With Adriene
As is probably obvious, if yoga is your jam, Yoga With Adriene is for you. She posts new videos every Wednesday and has videos suited for every experience level.
Jessica Smith TV
If you are just beginning your fitness journey, have joint issues, or are recovering from an injury, you NEED to check out Jessica Smith! She is known for her awesome walking videos that are low impact but still leave you huffing and puffing. She also has a great selection of barre workouts, and I used her great series of chair workouts when I twisted my knee but still wanted to get my workout on.
